Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Philip Nork was born in Chicago, Illinois. He lives in Nevada with his wife and their son. He mixes work with his love of writing. He spent the first 25 years of his working life in the restaurant industry. His first book Sensitivity101...The Search for Acceptance is a story of the search for acceptance and happiness. He is finalizing Sensitivity 202...Life Isn't All About You which follows a boy's life through adulthood, and how he came to terms with the unresolved issues of his teenage years. In addition to writing, Phil is a baseball card collector, an avid reader, and enjoys listening to the music of his youth, especially Rod Stewart and Air Supply.

Describe your book ‘Sensitivity 101...The Search for Acceptance’ in 30 words or less.

In the 1960's and 1970's divorce wasn't as prevalent as it is nowadays. In fact, most times it was hidden from view. The separation and eventual divorce could hit the children involved extremely hard. They would try to lose themselves in drugs, alcohol or other things to help them get over the feelings they had. "Sensitivity 101...The Search for Acceptance" chronicles one of these children and his journey of self-discovery as he searches for acceptance and happiness--the two desires everyone shares.

What was the hardest part of writing your book?

The hardest part of writing is actually the editing. You have to be open enough, and trust your editor enough, to make sure that you are both on the same page. It reminds of being back in school, with a red pen and notes in the margins...

What books have had the greatest influence on you?

I don't have any titles for you, but I am very interested in reading new books by unknown authors. There are so many talented people out there that no one has ever heard of. I only read these people; free Nook books are the best.

Briefly share with us what you do to market your book?

I use the internet the most, with BookBuzzr games and widgets. I travel a lot for business and make sure I always have a handful of books on hand. I 'read' my book while waiting for planes and on the flight itself. This leads to others asking me about it. Then I start my pitch. I also have accounts on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. I really like word of mouth, it seems better than me talking about my book.

How do you spend your time when you are not writing?

I love baseball, am an avid baseball card collector...I listen to the music from my past, like Air Supply and Rod Stewart, and spending time with my eleven year old son.

What are you working on next?

I'm in the editing phase of "Sensitivity 202...Life Isn't All About You." It is the second book in the self-discovery of one man as he uses lessons from his past in adulthood.
