FAQ - JC De La Torre
Q:Why do you write?
A: Because I have demons that I need to get out of me! No seriously, I do it because I love to see where the adventure will take me.

Sure, like many authors, I'll outline where I'd like to go. However, I've found that many times it goes off into a completely different direction.

I just love that!

Q:Are you Christian?
A: I was baptized Catholic, however, I've grown more agnostic. Do I believe Jesus Christ walked the Earth? Sure. Do I follow his teachings? I certainly try to. Is he the Son of God? Well, that's a question I just can't answer. I don't even know if there is a God. If there is - is he the son? That's really a question of faith.

Q:Your story Killing Osama had a lot of anti-Muslim sentiment. Do you hate Muslims?
A: Absolutely not! I completely respect their religion and fervently believe in their rights to practice it. I do, however, hate terrorism and there are distinct difference between the two. The story is about the mob getting even with a terrorist named Osama for killing all of their Dons. The mafia has never been known for their compassionate interrogation techniques.

Q:Is the Osama in the story Osama Bin Laden?
A: No, it’s not Bin Laden. He’s a combination of several on the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorist lists.

Q:Why do you protray Satan as good in Lucifer's Lament?
A: Actually, Satan is the villain in the story, Lucifer is the anti-hero. Many combine Satan and Lucifer as the same being - but if you read scripture they are different persona.

Q:Will Serial ever be a novel series?
A: Yes! The overwhelming response to Serial has had me re-think which of the short stories will carry on to novelization.

At first, Continuum Force was the story that I planned to expand on but I guess we live in the age of vampires and Allister Connacher's no-nonsense vampire seemed to strike a cord.

Look for the Serial series to continue with a new work hopefully by next year!

Q:Will you continue the Rise of the Ancients saga?
A: Yes, but not for a little while. There are new avenues I want to explore - like Serial - and a y/a sci-fi book I am working on.

I have a feeling that this may take off a little bit. I also haven't given up on Continuum Force, either.

However, I certainly haven't spun the last tale about the Annuna, Prometheus, and Dan.
