Greg Mortenson (born December 27, 1957) is an American mountain climber and humanitarian from Bozeman, Montana. Mortenson is the co-founder (with Dr. Jean Hoerni) and director of the non-profit Central Asia Institute, and founder of the educational charity, Pennires For Peace. He is the protagonist of the New York Times bestseller, Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Mission To Promote Peace... One School At A Time, which he co-authored with journalist David Oliver Relin.
