I’m Joe Heuer and welcome to my rock and roll stew!

Frank Zappa said, “Be who you is and not who you ain’t, cuz if you is who you ain’t you ain’t who you is.” This blog be who I is. And who I is hopes you have fun visiting my little rock and roll circus.

Through each of my careers and incarnations, there has been one constant thread in my life–Rock and Roll. For the better part of five decades, I’ve been blessed with opportunities to do many fun things in my life and all of them have been inspired, in one form or another, by rock and roll. It has been the single greatest influence in my life. My friends and family will tell you that I live and breathe classic rock.

Recently I made another pilgrimage to my holy land, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. While I was waiting in line for a sandwich, I perused the list of inductees on one of their brochures. It turns out that I have seen forty-one of the inductees live in concert, and several of them ten times or more. This revelation jolted my thinking and has resulted in my new career path as the Rock and Roll Guru.

My basic philosophy of life is to play hard, have fun, learn lots. That’s what I tell my girls every morning before they leave for school, and it’s what I hope that I model for them. My personal mantra is this: If you always do fun things, there will always be plenty of fun things to do. Strange, perhaps…but it works really well for me.

For more than a decade I’ve been a professional speaker and I have also written several books, some of which have actually been published. I deliver humorous presentations on creating customer (or patient or member) loyalty for corporations, hospitals, professional associations and chambers of commerce.
