Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I'm a native Texan living in Northern Virginia.
I am a college professor by day and I write novels by night.
Describe your book ‘Parallel’ in 30 words or less.
What happens when
you find out you're from an alternate reality? Seventeen-year-old Etta learns
the hard way and when she realizes that her new reality isn't as perfect her
dreams, she learns to accept her true destiny.
What was the hardest part of
writing your book?
Setting a schedule
and sticking to it! When you're an indue author you basically work for
yourself, which means being responsible your own deadlines. It's very easy to
get off track, but once you get into a routine, it gets easier.
books have had the greatest influence on you?
I've read so many books that I don't think I can answer that! But if I
had to choose an author, I'd say Stephen King. He colors outside the lines and
isn't afraid to break the rules when it comes to writing. Now, I'll never be
anywhere close to Mr. King, but I have learned a lot about being the kind of
writer I want to be from him.
Briefly share with us what you do to market your
Marketing is one
of the tougher aspects of publishing a book. I try to reach out to readers
through twitter and my blog. I also participated in a blog tour last October to
get readers aquatinted with my series.
How do you spend your time when you are not writing?
I try to spend
most of my spare time writing, but when I'm not doing that, you can probably
find me curled up on the couch reading a book, or watching my favorite
television shows (I'm a total tv junkie)!
What are you working on next?
Right now, I'm currently finishing up book 2 in the Travelers Series, Paradox.
