John R. Nordell, Jr. received a Ph.D. in History from Pennsylvania State
University. His first book was The Undetected Enemy: French and
American Miscalculations at Dien Bien Phu, 1953 (www.indochinawar.com). He is a member of the Organization of American Historians and lives in Old Forge, Pennsylvania with his wife Marianne.
