Shena Little Bear is not only my pen name; it is also my Native American name.I am Cherokee, Lakota, Osage, Irish, Scottish, German, and Welch.In 1978, I graduated from State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Missouri, but I started writing during my High School years.I have worked for three newspapers:the Miami Herald, Nevada State Journal, and Reno Evening Gazette.During the 1990’s, I was the editor and publisher of a monthly Native American publication.For years, I have written poetry and several of my poems have been published around the world.I am a lifetime member of the International Poet Society.Currently, I am writing books for readers of all ages.To date, I have three books published:VISIONS, PRAYERS, and POEMS; HOW THE LONE WOLF GOT HER NAME; and MY PAL LITTLE SNOWFLAKE.
