Eye Think's founder, filmmaker, artist, and inventor Rufus Butler
Seder, has been fascinated with antique optical toys since he was
young. About twenty years ago, he wondered if he could make a new sort
of moving picture using no electricity, special lighting, or moving
parts. After some experiment, he developed Lifetiles, optical
glass-tiled murals that appear to come to life, move, and change when
the viewer walks or rides by. For the past 16 years, Rufus has been
designing large-scale, permanent installations of these "movies for the
wall" in aquariums, science museums, train stations, and other public
places around the globe
