We won't spam you. We won't contact you without your permission. We collect your mailing address only when you win a prize. We share your contact and address details with third parties ONLY for the purpose of sending the prize book to you (and ONLY after receiving your explicit permission to do so.) The third parties here would include a retailer such as Amazon.com, or a participating author or publisher whose book you have played for and won as a prize.

The grand prize is given away in the form of a lucky draw. To win, you need to accumulate the required number of points by playing the games and exchange these points for the grand prize lucky draw e-coupon. On the day of the draw, a random winner will be chosen.

I want to buy one of the books that I have seen in the game. How do I contact the authors?
Buy links are available for all books in the "My Covers" section of the "My Freado" page (the page that you see when you first log-in.) You can also contact the authors by looking up their contact information from the Freado author pages.


How will we know whether we have won a book or not? And how long does it usually take to ship the book?
After the auction end date if you are the winner you will get a notification email and also a message in your Freado account. Click on the link given in the mail or message in your Freado account and provide your shipping details. If your prize is being sent by participating authors or publishers, we will share your shipping details with them. Else we will ship it ourselves to your address within 15 days.
Please note: If someone bids higher than you for a book that you have bid for, you will get a notification email and also a message in your Freado account. Keep checking your email and Freado account to keep track of your bid and to win the book.

How do I enter the prize drawing for the grand prize?
We usually give away some interesting electronic gadget as a grand prize. To enter the prize drawing, you need to earn the appropriate number of points and click on the "Enter into lucky draw" button which you will see when you login.

How is the grand prize drawing carried out?
In order to ensure transparency we use Random.org in carrying out the prize drawing.

If I challenge a facebook friend, and they sign up to play me, do I get the 500 point sign up bonus?
Yes. You do get 500 points if your FB friend signs up to play you.

I have 9,200 points, I bid but I was out bid for a book. Do I lose those points?
Only entry fee will be deducted and the remaining points will be credited back to your account.


What is "entry fee"?
The entry fee is a one time fee to participate in the bidding for a prize. These points will be deducted from your account if you decide to bid for a particular prize. These points will not be returned back to you even if you don't win the prize.

Why entry fee?
- This is how auctions work in the real world (ex: there is an entry fee to participate in an art auction.)
- We want you to play more and earn more points so that the books of our participating authors (who are basically sponsoring all the prizes on this site) receive more exposures.

Do the points earned on Freado expire?
Currently the points do not expire. However the administrators of Freado.com may decide to expire player points periodically. Players will be informed and will be given a time period to use the points before they expire. It is recommended to use points regularly so that a large accumulation of points is not lost. Administrators also have authority to expire points in the case of foul play, gaming the system and unethical practice."

I've won two books and I just wanted to make sure I do not owe postage on them. Is there any way I can find out before bidding if there is postage due from the winner/bidder?
No postage is due ... shipping author and freado.com handles that.
