The ending is hopeful and realistic, so those who are afraid of sad endings need not fear, but it's probably one of the most plausible conclusions to a story of this ilk that I've ever read. I know there are those readers who are in it for the happy fun schmaltzy escapism, and I do not recommend this to them. However, if prefer your erotica to smolder with intense, overwhelming emotions that drive intelligent, complex men to their very limits, then this is for you. The protagonist says at one point not to expect a hooker with a heart of gold story, and that is absolutely the case. This is about life in the gray areas, about what goes on behind closed doors and the ways that our emotionally driven choices as teenagers can send us down paths we never should have been on. By the end, though, there's a satisfying sense of rightness. What's done can't be undone, and a broken heart takes more than a few kisses to make better, but in "Tricky" as in the real world--not the romance world--when someone loves another enough, there's always hope that they can find their way back to the path they were always meant to travel.
