:

When Elizabeth moves to Ireland from California, she finds it difficult to adapt in a completely different country.

She meets Jared, and it is as if she knows him, as if she has always known him and she falls in love with him immediately.

However, when Joshua enters her life and she grows to love him, does that mean she loves Jared less?

Elizabeth learns that there are many different kinds of love and that some bonds remain even after death.

"Recycled Souls" grabs the reader with a personal but very absorbing story, projecting the main character's emotions with unusual intensity. This contemporary Young Adult excerpt is written in the first person, from Elizabeth's point of view.  Uprooted from her home in California, teenaged Elizabeth moves to Ireland with her mother and step-father. She spends the first school term in a haze of misery, choosing isolation, until eventually she accepts her new situation and decides to open herself to friendship. In the final scene of the excerpt she meets a young man who takes her breath away. The story itself is not earthshaking but the writing style, expressive of a young girls's experience and accentuated by a dreamy present tense style, offers an excellent read. I loved hearing about the Irish countryside and the details of Ireland. ABNA Expert Reviewer 2010

Thanks so much for sharing your story!  I have to say, I was surprised at how quickly I was gripped into Elizabeth's life!  I truly felt every feeling - love, sadness, heartache, loneliness - in the words.  You captured the emotions and thoughts of a young woman so wonderfully.  I love seeing that!  I cringe when writer's portray young women as flighty or over-confident...knowing darn good and well that everyone has lacks self-confidence - especially when their heart is on the line.
I wish you the best of luck.  I hope you continue writing stories as wonderful as this one!  By the way...I really want to visit Ireland now!!!  :) Angela Casablanca – via email after free pdf give-away on Amazon

I LOVED RECYCLED SOULS!!! I could not stop reading once I started and I have reread it a few times now. It made me sad, it made me happy. I associated with Elizabeth when her parents made choices that affected her entire life. I felt her pain. When she meets Edward, I felt shivers of pleasure....Will you be writing any more books? 18 February at 12:28 Jane Dowling on Facebook.com

Recycled Souls pulled me in from the first sentence. I felt immensely sorry for Elizabeth in the beginning and I could feel her emotion and sadness. A good read. The ultimate purpose for reincarnation is for us to learn enough lessons and gain enough experience from Earth lives that reincarnation is no longer necessary.... Like a graduation. Reincarnation is not the goal. Eternal life means never having to die anymore. That is the goal - overcoming death and rebirth. Reincarnation is the method and means to attain this goal. 17 February at 09:45 Susie van Heerden on Facebook.com

Recycled Souls was a good. The story is interesting, gripping, I did not have to struggle through the language and look up a word every so often. I enjoyed the story thoroughly and realized in the end that you were right - she was where she always had to be. I love Jared, he sounds so yummy!!
I also enjoyed your description of Ireland and the weather - excellent - I love the cold as well!! 14 February at 15:45 Sinead Elizabeth Ferreira on Facebook.com

Review Recycled Souls: Once I started reading it I could not put it down, I somehow just had to read it to the end in one sitting. I loved Jared, but not so much Joshua, nor Aaron, and I could not stand Elizabeth's pathetic request for Jared to leave w...hen she woke up in the hospital, if they were supposed to be soul mates through many lifetimes!!!  Other than this the book all in all had an intriguing plot with many captivating characters that one could relate to. I felt it a bit rushed at the end, because I wanted the story to continue for a while longer. Although I read the book a few months ago, it is still imprinted in my memory, with its great detail in scenery and characters, and my adoration for Jared started almost simultaneously as I opened the book cover... 28 January at 17:50 Tahne Dobson on Facebook.com

Lynette Ferreira has a refreshing writing style. Usually I am able to go from one book to another without any transitional problems, because all authors these days seem to write according to a pre-described template. By the third page of Recycled Souls, I was into this author’s writing style, and it flowed fluidly and without effort. While reading this book, it felt as if Elizabeth was sitting in front of me, telling it to me – as if she was telling me story, speaking directly to me.
Imagine being seventeen and having a crush on the most handsome boy in school since you have been fifteen. Then when he eventually notices you, actually says hello to you by saying your name aloud, your stepfather decide to move his family to another country – Ireland. Elizabeth is devastated and understandably upset. After living in the same house all her life, she has to now collect herself and move with her family. Elizabeth’s dad died when she was four years old, and her mom did not know where her dad was until there was a knock at the door, informing them that he had passed away. This made her mother over-protective to the point of smothering. Elizabeth, only being four, did not want her mom to be sad, so she pretended to be happy, and in the process, she could make her mom smile, a trait she kept through life. Elizabeth meets Jared, and it feels as if she has known him for all of her life and I fell in love with him instantaneously as well. Although, I do admit, just as Joshua grew on Elizabeth, so he grew on me. I also liked the way Elizabeth got along with her stepdad; usually stepfathers are portrayed as awful additions, but not in this case. Granted, there are a few formatting errors and grammatical errors, but which book printed these days, even those published by the so-called big publishing houses, does not have any. The story of Elizabeth is however strong enough to carry you through this.

The trials and tribulations of love, a break-up, an accident, a past-life experience, learning that there are many different kinds of love; make this story something I could relate to. Recycled Souls made me rejoice in love, it made me feel sadness rise from the pit of my stomach. It made me optimistic that no matter what happens in my life, it is merely a stepping-stone to the place where I need to be. Usually as I finish one book, I reach towards the next, but after reading Recycled Souls, Elizabeth and Jared kept echoing in my mind. Books for Teens.com

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, May 29, 2010  By J. Allen This book definitely kept me captivated. I kept wondering exactly what was going to happen next. I will be honest and say, it felt somewhat rushed at times. I thought it could go a little deeper. I am 24 and still watch teen tv shows, I find it interesting to get into the mind of the teenager today. I thought Elizabeth could be a little harsh at times, but I do remember being young and easily angry at my parents, friends, etc. I didn't immediately feel the connection between Elizabeth and Jared, but I definitely had the feeling that they were the main thread of the book. Joshua slipping in was some of my favorite parts of the book. I felt that he helped Elizabeth grow up some, and become her own self. The past-life aspect was a good addition. I actuallly read a book about past-lives when I was about 14, and still believe somewhat. I don't want to give too much away! It was worth the read. I will be sending it to my 13 year-old neice soon! (This was my first review, I hope it was okay! I wanted to review it for the author and possible readers, since there were only 2 so far!) Amazon.com

5.0 out of 5 stars A definite must read!!!,  April 3, 2010 By Leslie A. Kennedy (San Diego, CA) I was reluctant to buy this book since only 1 person had reviewed it, but I must say it was well worth it! Amazon.com
