Year 9 at Highworth Warneford School have been part of a wonderful experiment to personalise their English curriculum. What you are about to read is a collection of writing from pupils of mixed ability who started a Creative Writing course because they had one thing in common: they loved the idea of learning to write. What better way to test and celebrate their skills than write a real book for publication? This book.We hope you enjoy the journey they have been on as they explore their talent and, of course, learn to make mistakes. Anyone can write badly, and most of us do. Few of us get the chance to test our writing out in the real world. Our 13 and 14 year olds are bound to fail to write like adult writers, but the ambition to do so, to be creative, to take real risks, is wonderful.
